We've just had the best morning out at Primrose Vale PYO doing their pumpkin trail which they've set up for half term, so much so I thought I'd break my habit of not blogging to share it with you!
We got there around 10.30 and paid for the trail in the farm shop (if you have cash you can go straight to the barn at the end of the path). It was £5 per child with grown ups going free! We were given a sheet of questions and pointed in the direction of the different fields which held the challenges and challenges they were!
The boys had to catch spiders and find a code after weaving through a spider's web - Tom described it as the Crystal Maze for Halloween - with added smoke and ultra violet lighting, I think he hit the nail on the head!
The super thing about the trail is that you don't need to follow it numerically - it wasn't too busy but it did mean that we didn't have to wait for anything as it was so flexible, I did keep number 10 (the maze in the dark) for last though to keep them posing along the way! I loved the mummies in the fields - the boys had to use a catapult to fire tennis balls at them!
They loved the bone skittles and you can see the delight on Tom's face when he got a load down.
The tension on the terrifying toadstools was papable... such a simple idea but brilliantly executed
And after all that fun and receiving treat for completing the challenges, the boys were more than happy to take a seat amongst the pumpkins and let me take a photo. If you have a spare couple of hours, the trail is running from now until 31st October and is open from 9-4. There's also a cafe on site as well as a play park. The Westwoods highly recommend it and we're now planning what to carve on our pumpkins!
